The Government of Bermuda has issued two releases including statements from the Premier of Bermuda and the Minister of Finance concerning Bermuda's inclusion in the EU list of non-cooperative jurisdictions on 12 March 2019. Both releases indicate that Bermuda has met the conditions required for it to not be included in the EU list and it is expected that Bermuda will be removed. In this respect, the statement from the Minister of Finance includes that Bermuda has addressed all issues identified and is now fully compliant, which was communicated to the EU Commission in a revised submission on 4 March 2019. However, according to the Minister of Finance, the revised submission was not fully considered prior to the 12 March decision, which led to Bermuda's inclusion. It is expected that Bermuda will be removed from the list during the next meeting of the EU Economic and Financial Affairs Council in May 2019.
