As previously reported, Nicaragua has introduced a number of tax reform changes for 2019, including in relation to the taxation of capital gains. Further to the changes reported, new final withholding rates have set in relation to capital gains derived from the transfer of assets that are required to be registered before a public office. The rate is based on the equivalent in Nicaraguan córdobas of the value of the asset in US dollars as follows:
Assets that must be registered include, among others, vehicles, airplanes, ships, etc.
