Sri Lanka to Sign Tax Treaties with the Czech Republic and Turkey and Amending Protocol to Tax Treaty with India — Orbitax Tax News & Alerts

Sri Lanka's Cabinet has issued a release announcing that on 24 January 2022, it approved the signing of income tax treaties with the Czech Republic and Turkey. The Cabinet also approved the signing of an amending protocol to the 2013 tax treaty with India. The treaty with the Czech Republic will replace the 1978 tax treaty between Sri Lanka and the former Czechoslovakia, which continues to apply in respect of Sri Lanka and the Czech Republic, while the treaty with Turkey will be the first of its kind between the two countries. The protocol to the tax treaty with India will be the first to amend the treaty.
