Statutory Tax Rate

The standard corporate tax rate in Curacao is 22%. Special reduced rates are available for Export companies (4%), New industries and Hotels (2%), and Land Development Companies (2%). Effective 1 January 2020, a reduced 3% corporate rate is introduced for income from aircraft building and improvement, administrative and back office services, warehousing and logistics services and fund management services, subject to certain conditions.

The reduced 2% corporate tax rate applicable for E-Zone companies is abolished with effect from 1 January 2020, with qualified companies as on 31 December 2019 grandfathered until 31 December 2022.

Exempt Status (0% rate): Subject to certain conditions, private limited companies (BV) are eligible for tax exempt status if engaged primarily in investment and financing activities, and the licensing of intellectual and industrial rights and other comparable property and usage rights. From 2015, eligibility is extended to public limited companies (NV) as well.

Curacao was a part of the Netherlands Antilles until the Antilles was dissolved on 10 October 2010.
