2.1. Main Formation Requirements
Key steps to be followed for registering a company are:
- Verifying the registration documents, applying for a fiscal identification number at One-Stop-Shop at Economic Development Board of Madagascar (‘EDBM’)
- Paying the registration fees and registering the company at EDBM
- Applying for a license (carte professionnelle) and registering the company at the National Statistics Institute (‘INSTAT’)
- Publishing a notice of a company’s incorporation in the local newspaper
- Obtaining the K-Bis from EDBM. The K-Bis is the document that compiles all the relevant information regarding the company such as identification numbers under tax and statistics , the registration number and the date of the newspaper publication
- Registering the employees with National Social Security Fund
- Registering the employees with the Public Insurance Scheme i.e. OSTIE
