The Republic of Mali is a landlocked country in Western Africa. It borders Algeria, Burkina Faso, Guinea, the Ivory Coast, Mauritania, Niger, and Senegal. The country's economy is based primarily on agriculture, animal husbandry and fishing, but also has a growing mining sector, especially gold mining. Mali is open to foreign investment and provides several incentives for new investments.
