Thailand is located in Southeastern Asia bordering the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. Neighboring countries include Burma, Cambodia, Laos, and Malaysia.
Thailand has a mixed economic system in which there is a variety of private freedom, combined with centralized economic planning and government regulation. Key economic sectors include both low and high-tech manufacturing, agriculture and fisheries, and tourism.
Although Thailand places restrictions on 100% foreign ownership for certain industries, the country is otherwise open to foreign investment and provides a number of tax incentives.
The currency is the Thai Bhat (THB).
