The Hungarian government has issued a release on efforts to contain the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic. This includes that small businesses and individual entrepreneurs are being granted an exemption from the payment of the flat-rate tax of small businesses (kata) until 30 June. It is also noted that the deferment of 'kata' debts incurred before 1 March has also been authorized, with taxpayers in arrears with such payment liabilities required to pay these debts in the quarter following the end of the state of danger. The release also includes that Hungarian media providers will be granted exemption due to their lost advertising revenues, in addition to tourism and catering.
