The Committee will not yet consider the pending tax treaties with Chile, Hungary, and Poland because the U.S. Treasury is seeking the inclusion in those treaties of a Base Erosion and Anti-Abuse Tax (BEAT) reservation to clarify that nothing in the treaties will affect application of the BEAT under U.S. law or, reciprocally, any similar tax under the domestic law of the foreign treaty party.
