On 4 April 2025, the Dutch Council of Ministers authorized the Minister of Foreign Affairs to sign an income tax treaty with Cyprus on behalf of Curacao. Officials from Curacao and Cyprus concluded negotiations for the treaty on 25 September 2024. The treaty is the first of its kind between the two countries and must be signed and ratified before entering into force.
