Mexico Publishes Rules for Capital Gains Tax Exemption for a Non-Residents' Sale of Mexican Company Shares

On 4 July 2014, Mexico published in the Official Gazette the rules for capital gains tax exemption for non-residents' gains from the sale of Mexican company shares. The exemption applies when such shares are issued on a recognized stock exchange and the non-resident is resident in a jurisdictions with which Mexico has concluded a tax treaty and the treaty is in force.
