The income tax treaty and protocol between Australia and Turkey, signed on 28 April 2010, entered into force on 27 June 2011. The treaty generally applies in Australia from 1 January 2012 for withholding taxes and from 1 July 2011 for other taxes. In Turkey, it applies from 1 January 2012.
