The Canadian Government has issued a release announcing that the Employment Insurance (EI) premium rate for 2019 is CAD 1.62 per CAD 100 (1.62%) of insurable earnings and that the maximum insurable earnings for 2019 is increased to CAD 53,100 from CAD 51,700 in 2018. The announcement also notes that for Quebec, which operates a different system, the rate for 2019 is CAD 1.25 per CAD 100 (1.25%) of insurable earnings. The maximum insurable earnings in Quebec is the same as above.
