Turkey Expands Tax Return and Payment Deadline Relief Following Earthquake to Additional Areas — Orbitax Tax News & Alerts

Turkey's Revenue Administration has announced that the state of force majeure in response to the earthquake that struck on 6 February 2023 has been expanded to additional areas, including the Elazığ Province and the Gurin district of Sivas Province. As previously reported, the deadlines for tax declarations (returns), tax payments, and other tax obligations are extended for affected areas. For declarations that would normally be due during the force majeure period, the deadline is extended to 15 August 2023. For payments that would normally be due during the force majeure period, the deadline is extended to 31 August 2023. An exemption from advance tax declarations during the force majeure period is also provided, as well as relief for paying tax debts in up to 24 monthly installments without interest.
