During a meeting held 8 September 2020 to discuss bilateral cooperation, Turkey's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, expressed interest in the signing of an income tax treaty with the Republic of the Congo. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
