According to recent reports, officials from Turkey and Uzbekistan met on 12 April 2021 to discuss bilateral relations, including the establishment of the exchange of information on tax matters between the competent authorities of the two countries. The 1996 income tax treaty was recently updated (effective 1 January 2021) to include exchange of information provisions in line with OECD standards for information exchange.
