According to a release from Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from Japan and Thailand met on 22 March 2024 to discuss bilateral relations, including the acceleration of negotiations to conclude a social security agreement. The agreement will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
