Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has released a public notice appointing employers and payers of capital sums as Capital Gains Tax (CGT) collecting agents with effect from 1 January 2019. CGT to be withheld includes inter alia compensation for loss of employment. Note that the public notice is only applicable to taxpayers resident in Nigeria's Lagos State.
