Statutory Tax Rate
The standard corporate tax rate is 20% (increased from 18% effective 1 January 2023).
Effective 1 January 2023, the additional local tax of up to 2% is abolished since the standard corporate tax rate is increased by 2%. The additional local tax was introduced effective 1 January 2022, authorizing the local tax authorities to increase the tax rate by up to 2% for specified taxpayers that paid 100% of the taxes to the local budget.
Certain other rates also apply as follows:
- A corporate tax rate of 25% applies to:
- banks and insurance companies;
- microfinance organizations (effective 1 January 2019 until 31 December 2022); and
- companies deriving profits from foreign exchange transactions (effective 1 January 2020);
- A corporate tax rate of 30% applies to cellular mobile telecommunications operators and commercial microfinance organizations in respect of profits received from microfinance activities effective from 1 January 2023 until 1 January 2025;
- A corporate tax rate of 50% applies to companies that transport oil and oil products through pipelines in Belarus effective 1 January 2020; and
- A corporate tax rate of 10% applies to income from high-tech products. This rate is reduced to 5% with respect to self-produced goods included in the list of high-tech goods.

Capital gains from the sale of shares are subject to tax at the standard corporate tax rate of 20%.
