According to a release from Pakistan's Federal Board of Revenue, officials from Bangladesh and Pakistan met from 22 to 26 December 2025 for the first round of negotiations for an amending protocol to the 1981 income tax treaty between the two countries. Any resulting protocol would be the first to amend the treaty and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
