The Australian Treasury has launched two public consultations in response to the PwC tax leaks scandal (previous coverage). This includes a consultation on the regulation of accounting, auditing and consulting firms in Australia and a consultation on tax regulator information gathering powers. The deadline for comment on the first consultation is 28 June 2024 while the deadline for the second is 31 May 2024.
