Bangladesh Requires Certain Sectors to Submit VAT Returns Electronically

The Bangladesh National Board of Revenue (NBR) has issued General Order No. 12/VAT/2026 of 20 September 2026. The Order makes it mandatory for specific categories of manufacturers and service providers to submit their VAT returns electronically through the NBR's eVAT portal.

Manufacturers covered by the requirements include manufacturers of:

• Mobile Phones (Heading 85.17)
