Brazil Reduces Federal Import Tax on Low-Value International Postal Shipments

Brazil has published Provisional Measure No. 1.357 of 12 May 2026, which authorizes the Minister of Finance to reduce the federal import tax rates under the simplified tax regime for international postal shipments. In particular, the Minister is authorized to reduce the rate to as low as 0% for shipments valued at up to USD 50, and to as low as 30% for shipments valued at over USD 50 up to USD 3,000.
