Canada and Vietnam Looking to Conclude Social Security Agreement

According to a Joint statement on the Strategic Partnership between Canada and Vietnam, published by the Prime Minister of Canada on 24 September 2026, the two sides have agreed to initiate exploratory discussions towards the conclusion of a social security agreement. Any resulting agreement would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
