On 9 June 2022, China’s State Tax Administration (SAT) issued a release announcing that starting from 2022, companies may claim preferential policies for R&D expenses for the first three quarters of the current year in October, instead of claiming as part of the annual tax return in the following year. This includes the preferential policies that allow for an additional (super) deduction for R&D expenses of up to 100% (200% total) for qualifying taxpayers.
