As previously reported, the Russian Ministry of Finance issued a release on 3 August 2020 announcing that it has begun the process for the termination of the 1998 tax treaty with Cyprus due to a failure of negotiations. The Cyprus Ministry of Finance has responded with an announcement acknowledging Russia's release and announcing that a final round of negotiations has been scheduled for 10 to 11 August 2020.
