Czech Senate Approves Pending Tax Treaty with Malta

On 29 July 2026, the Czech Senate (upper house of parliament) approved the ratification of the pending income and capital tax treaty with Malta. The treaty, signed 24 September 2025, will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force. Once in force and effective, the new treaty will replace the 1996 tax treaty between the two countries.
