El Salvador's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a release on 12 May 2025 announcing that officials from El Salvador and Turkey have held the first round of negotiations for an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
