On 16 November 2017, the Estonia government approved the pending income tax treaty with Japan. The treaty, signed 30 August 2017, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force 30 days after the ratification instruments are exchanged ({News-2017-08-31/T/3-previous coverage}).
