On 29 February 2012, the Parliament adopted the first Finance Amendment Law (Loi de Finances Rectificative) for 2012.
The Finance Amendment Law provides for an increase in the social levy (contribution sociale) on passive income, from 3.4% to 5.4 %. This increase takes effect from 1 October 2012.
Note. The implementation of the above measures is dependent upon the outcome of the imminent Presidential election.
