On 23 February 2024, the Council of Ministers of Gabon approved the pending income tax treaty with China. The treaty, signed 1 September 2018, is the first of its kind between the two countries. It will enter into force 30 days after the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
