Hong Kong and Kazakhstan Holding First Round of Tax Treaty Negotiations

According to an update from the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department, officials from Hong Kong and Kazakhstan are scheduled to hold the first round of negotiations for an income tax treaty from 24 to 28 August 2026. Any resulting treaty will be the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
