According to an update from the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department, officials from Hong Kong and Oman are holding the first round of negotiations for an income tax treaty from 5 to 9 January 2026. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
