Japanese Parliament Approves New Tax Treaty with Kyrgyzstan

On 29 May 2026, Japan's House of Councillors (upper house of parliament - Diet) approved the new income tax treaty with Kyrgyzstan, following its approval by the House of Representatives (lower house) on 19 May. The treaty, signed 19 December 2025, will enter into force 30 days after the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
