On 20 April 2021, the Kenyan High Court in Machakos issued conservatory orders suspending the Kenya Revenue Authority's implementation of the Minimum Tax, pending the hearing and determination of a petition filed by the Isinya Bar Owners Association and Kenya Association of Manufacturers. The new 1% Minimum Tax was introduced with effect from 1 January 2021 and is payable in installments on the 20th day of the 4th, 6th, 9th, and 12th months of the year of income.
