On 23 January 2019, Kyrgyzstan President Sooronbay Jeenbekov signed the law for the ratification of the pending social security agreement with Turkey. The agreement, signed 9 April 2018, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
