On 11 July 2025, Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov signed the law for the ratification of the pending social security agreement with China. The agreement, signed 5 February 2025, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force 90 days after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
