According to a release from the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from Chile and Latvia met 9 and 10 April 2018 to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations, including Latvia's interest in concluding an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries, and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
