On 1 May 2025, the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador announced the approval of an increase in the annual exemption threshold for individual income tax to USD 6,600, equivalent to a monthly income of up to USD 550. With the change, the individual income tax brackets/rates are as follows:
- up to USD 6,600.00 - 0%
- USD 6,600.01 to 9,142.86 -10%
- USD 9,142.87 to 22,857.14 - 20%
- USD 22,857.15 and over - 30%
