Macau and Malaysia Considering Tax Treaty Negotiations

According to a release from the Macau government, officials from Macau and Malaysia met on 4 September 2026 to discuss the enhancement of cooperation, including through the negotiation of an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
