Malawi moves forward with electronic invoicing 

Malawi’s EIS became effective on May 1, 2026. On June 23, 2026, the MRA confirmed that it had successfully onboarded over 91% of its targeted VAT-registered businesses to its e-invoicing system, EIS, by June 2026. The e-invoice initiative is expected to strengthen compliance monitoring and improve audit effectiveness.
