Morocco and Nigeria Resume Tax Treaty Negotiations

According to recent reports, officials from Morocco and Nigeria met on 8 June 2026 to resume negotiations for an income tax treaty. Negotiations for an earlier treaty were concluded in 2016, but procedures for its signature and entry into force did not progress. Any resulting treaty from the resumed negotiations will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
