According to a release from Moldova's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, officials from France and Moldova met on 19 December 2019 to discuss bilateral relations, including the negotiation and signing of an income tax treaty. A tax treaty between the two countries was signed in 2006 to replace the tax treaty between France and the former Soviet Union as it applies in respect of France and Moldova, although the 2006 treaty has not been ratified.
