Peru and Spain Agree on Need to Conclude New Tax Treaty

According to a release from Peru's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from Peru and Spain met on 8 September 2026 to discuss bilateral cooperation and agreed on the need to conclude negotiations and sign a new income tax treaty. The two sides previously signed a tax treaty in 2006, but it was never ratified. The new treaty must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
