Portugal's Parliament Approves Law Implementing DAC8 and DAC9

Portugal's Assembly of the Republic (parliament) has approved Assembly Decree 69/XVII (Draft Law 64/XVII/1), which was published in the Journal of the Assembly on 11 May 2026. The Decree (Law) provides for the implementation of Council Directive (EU) 2023/2226 of 17 October 2023 (DAC8) and Council Directive (EU) 2025/872 of 14 April 2025 (DAC9). It must now be signed and published in the Official Gazette to enter into force, which is expected in the near future.
