Romania took over the role of the Council of the EU Presidency from 1 January 2019. The tax-related priorities of the Romanian Presidency during its six-month term include:
- Trying again to implement an EU-wide digital services tax;
- Advancing proposals for VAT reform and the common consolidated corporate tax base; and
- Reviewing the EU list of non-cooperative jurisdictions and the progress made by jurisdictions that have been grey-listed.
