Russia has published Federal Law No. 406-FZ of 6 December 2021, which sets the minimum wage at RUB 13,890 per month from 1 January 2022 (up from RUB 12,792). The minimum wage value is used for certain tax purposes, including national insurance contributions for SMEs, which was reduced from 30% to 15% from 1 April 2020 on the portion of wages that is above the minimum wage. This was provided as part of a package of measures in response to COVID-19.
