The South African Revenue Service (SARS) is providing penalty relief for certain taxpayers that failed to meet their GMT filing obligations by 30 June 2026 due to difficulties in registering group entities. In this regard, SARS will continue to work closely with affected taxpayers so that their filing obligations can be met by 31 July 2026. As long as a taxpayer has been genuinely attempting to meet their obligations during this process, penalties will not be imposed.
