The Embassy of India in Beijing has announced that officials from China and India have agreed to begin negotiations for a social security agreement, with the first round of negotiations to take place in 2019. Any resulting agreement would be the first of its kind between the two countries, and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
