South Africa 2026 Budget Delivered Including VAT Registration Threshold Increase, Adjustments for Inflation, and Other Proposals

South Africa's Minister of Finance, Enoch Godongwana, delivered the 2026 Budget Speech on 25 February 2026. Specific proposed measures include the following:

• The compulsory VAT registration threshold is increased from ZAR 1 million to ZAR 2.3 million from 1 April 2026, and the voluntary VAT registration threshold is increased from ZAR 50,000 to ZAR 120,000;
